Temporary positions can last anything from a few hours to more than a year. Benefits of temping can mean increased flexibility with working hours and it gives you more freedom to pick and choose who to work for while the skills you learn can be broader and more transferable.  

If there is a company that you are eager to become a part of, then temping can be a fantastic opportunity to show them what you can do. That way they may be so impressed that they will hire you on a more permanent basis.
